Pencils on A4 Paper
21 x 30 cm

The Mexican Redknee Tarantula (Branchypelma smithi) measures between 12-14 cm, and it’s found primary along the central Pacific coast of Mexico. For Anni, tarantulas are both scary and intriguing, and she chose the Mexican Redknee for its beautiful colors and docile nature. In the wild they are important in controlling insect populations, and they are prey to many animals, including birds and lizards. This arachnid is also a movie star, having appeared in many Indiana Jones and 007 movies.

The color pencils used for this work are Derwent, and the paper is acid-free, 180g Canson.
