The Satanic Leaf-tailed Gecko (Uroplatus phantasticus) can be between 6-15 cm in size, and is endemic to Madagascar. What appealed to Anni was how certain species, like the gecko, have evolved to mimic their environment. Coloration varies between individuals and some of them look like an autumn leaf with red, orange and green beautifully mixed together, like a creature that just walked out of a fantasy book.

The color pencils used for this work are Caran d’ Ache Luminance 6901 (which retain coloration well) and the paper is acid-free, 180g Canson.
